2500 metres of double bank fishing
Blackwood is a picturesque middle/lower beat on a private estate. A blend of deep holding pools, lovely lies and sparkling streams.
The beat has 15 main pools. This allows fly fishing, spinning and worm fishing to be carried out when water conditions are suitable for each method.

They
don't come much better than this bar of silver - straight from the sea
Copies
of the rules are issued with the tickets.
Important rules to note are :-
When the river is below the water level markers, fishing is allowed with fly only.
There is no worm fishing in November.
Tickets are non-transferable
Catches are limited to 2 salmon in any one day. Thereafter, anglers must exercise "catch and release"
Anglers may not fish for more than half of each day on the Bridge Pool or from the bridge down to the bottom limit of the beat.
The Blackwood beat is perhaps the most exclusive beat on
the Nith which is available for letting on an annual basis.
Run
as a "club" for 17 season permits who are from
all over the UK. There are two house rods which are sometimes
available for the week
The 6-year catch average (1997 to 2003) for our water was 44 Salmon, 22 Grilse and 92 Sea Trout
