CARNSALLOCH Fishings
Dumfries & Galloway Angling Association
Fly

Picture above shows DGAA angler Colin Campbell with a good fish from the Top Boards Pool at Carnsalloch. Colin's fish was the largest of at least 17 fish landed on the beat on Monday 6th October 2008. It weighed in at 15lb.

3 Miles of double bank fishing -
Owned by Dumfries & Galloway Angling Association, the beat has 11 named pools all of which provide good holding for salmon and sea trout.

All pools are easily fished from one or other bank and are suitable for fly fishing with an overhead cast. Pools are a "manageable' size - big enough for experienced anglers, but not too big for the novice.

They don't come much better than this 20lb cock fish taken off the Bluffs by Gordon Holt

Mac McKeown from Dumfries took this lovely 16lb fish on 6th November 2009. He took the fish from the Bluffs pool just before it got dark.
