This is a very attractive
accessible beat, owned by the Friars Carse Country House Hotel.
This is the only beat which can offer both fishing and
accommodation. The hotel now three self-catering cottages within the grounds - recently renovated to a high standard.

The beat
has a mixture of pools which provide for fishing with
fly, spinning or worming. A good riverside footpath
allows anglers with mobility problems to fish some of
the more productive pools without difficulty.

Access
The hotel
access is off the main A76, about one mile south of
Auldgirth. Parking for the fishing is at the hotel and
with short access paths leading to the river. |

Eddie Peacock enjoyed his six days fishing on the Friars Carse beat in 2008. Even more so when he made his 'very last cast' and hooked into this absolutely beautiful 19.5lb cock fish. One of those 'fish of a lifetime.
Mike Horrocks seems happy enough to have finished October off with a real bit of luck.He was fishing Friars Carse beat on the last day of the month and landed this nice 16.5 lb. fish.
