miles of mostly double bank fishing
The
Mid-Nithsdale Angling Association beat offers a good
mixture of deep holding pools,runs and flats which provide
lovely lies and sparkling streams.
It has 18 main holding pools. This allows fly, spinning
and worm fishing to be carried out when water conditions
are suitable for each method.
This beat has an excellent balance of fishings, combining
good spring sea trout runs with the summer/autumn salmon
and grilse. |
| Access
Maps
of the fishing are issued with tickets. Parking and
access points are good and should present no difficulties
for anglers with mobility problems.
We
will be building four specially-designed access points
for disabled anglers in the next few years. If you want
to be informed of the progress on these, contact the
Secretary via the Pets Larder. |

| Rules
Copies
of the rules are issued with the tickets. Important
rules to note are :- |

Spinning
and worming only after the 1st April and in any
height of water. Restricted sizes of hooks, weights
and spinners. |
|
No
shrimps or prawns (artificial or natural)
No natural minnows |
|
Fishing
is restricted to between 8.00 am and 4.30 pm in
November. |
|
Catches
are limited to 3
salmon or Grilse and 2 sea trout
in any one day. Thereafter, anglers must exercise
"catch and release". |

NOTES
Visitor's
Daily tickets have been restricted to no more than 12
each day, so it is advisable to book in advance.
A
limited number of Visitors' season tickets are available
and there is a waiting list for these. For details contact
