Approx. one mile of double bank fishings at Rosehill - about 4 miles north of Dumfries.

This is an exclusive, private beat on the lower Nith offering easy wading to excellent pools in all water conditions. Let by the week, the salmon fishing is generally well-booked from August to November, but rods are available from time to time. There are eight named pools on the beat.

Visitors Tickets

Tickets are issued only on a weekly basis.

A Sea Trout Club operates during the early months and again prospective clients may have their names added to the waiting list.

Rules

We issue copies of the rules with tickets. Important rules to note are

When the river is below the water level markers, fishing is allowed with fly only

Tickets are non-transferable

Catches are limited to 2 salmon and 6 sea trout in any one day. Thereafter, anglers must
exercise "catch and release".

We encourage "catch and release" for all hen fish in the months of October and November.

Tickets are sold on a weekly basis only

£1000 (incl. of VAT) for 2 rods per week in August, September, October & November.

There is a 25% surcharge for a 3rd rod on all weekly bookings

Access - is from the A76 2 miles north of Dumfries - on the road marked "Holywood Station". Follow the signs for the station and the track leads beyond the station to the riverbank. Parking is on the right bank near the hut at the top of the beat. Cars can be taken further down the bank when the weather is dry.
