Regular Nith visitor Michael Granger from Paris seemed happy enough with this 6lb fish from the Denholm's Wood pool on the DGAA's Carnsalloch beat.

Michael tells us "a 14lb cock salmon was taken out of the River Seine just upstream from Paris ...... the first salmon taken on the river for over 70 years."

"There was also a 12lb sea trout taken in May ..... also the first for over 70 years."

These two catches aside, Michael assures us that he will still come to fish the Nith as he has been doing every year for the last 16 years or so!
