Steve and his group had a great time on the Cairn

Steve Morgans and his friends, brothers Mark and Tyrone Karakas, had their annual visit to the Nith on 29th/30th October.

Fishing with worm and spinner on the Cairn at the West Cluden beat, they landed and retained 4 fish and a small sea trout. Other than that, they landed and returned several other coloured fish.

Best catch was for Steve - his first ever salmon - with this 12lb fish. He tells us he "landed it after a 10 minute arm-aching struggle."

The boys asked us to thank everyone they met in Dumfries for their friendship and advice.

They are already making plans for a return next year.
