Dumfries Angler Alex Saville took this lovely 21lb hen fish on the fly at the Bluffs on the Carnsalloch stretch of the river on Saturday 19th September.

As the photo shows, the fish was only slightly coloured but Alex very sportingly returned it unharmed to the river.

Well done Alex! Jim Henderson should announce a new kind of reward for you .... we see you already have one of his baseball caps!!
