Report in from the Old Mains Beat which is situated just below Sanquhar at the top of the river for the week starting 9th November 2009 was...

"The Old Mains beat has fished quite well for the week with six salmon and six sea trout which were all over 3 pound  caught last week.

See attached a photo from Alex Simpson from Ayr who caught a lovely 14lb hen fish which was returned safely."
